{"id":1414,"date":"2010-05-21T11:33:19","date_gmt":"2010-05-21T15:33:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lifewithhappiness.com\/?p=1414"},"modified":"2018-10-02T13:36:52","modified_gmt":"2018-10-02T17:36:52","slug":"life-lessons-from-a-coffee-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theexecutivehappinesscoach.com\/2010\/05\/life-lessons-from-a-coffee-cup\/","title":{"rendered":"Life Lessons from a Coffee Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When I bought a cup at the airport coffee shop, I expected warm caffeine.\u00a0 What I got was a list of life tips written on the cup.\u00a0 It made me smile, and thought I&#8217;d share:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"\/\/storageeffect.media.seagate.com\/files\/2008\/05\/caribou.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"148\" height=\"230\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thank a Teacher.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Listen 1st, talk 2nd<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Learn to dance a jig<\/li>\n<li><strong>Start right now<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Continue a conversation OFFline<\/li>\n<li>Take all your vacation days<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dance to your own rhythm<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Be a HERO (minus the dorky cape)<\/li>\n<li>Become a bee keeper<\/li>\n<li><strong>Smile first, ask questions later<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Follow your heart<\/li>\n<li><strong>Laugh so hard you cry<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Eat when you are hungry and Nap when you are tired<\/li>\n<li>Make time for silly<\/li>\n<li><strong>Love what you brew, brew what you love <\/strong><em>(Jim&#8217;s note &#8211; this is more than about coffee &#8212; think about it)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Enter a pie eating contest<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do it for love, not profit<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Grow older without ever growing up<\/li>\n<li>Adopt an animal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And it didn&#8217;t stop with the cup.\u00a0 Even the napkin carries some life wisdom:<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Stay awake for:<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n&#8230;maxing out your passport<br \/>\n&#8230;ghost stories around the campfire<br \/>\n&#8230;playing an instrument<br \/>\n&#8230;break dancing<br \/>\n&#8230;Luscious, oh-so-delicious chocolate<br \/>\nAnd finally, a reminder that:<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Life&#8217;s too short for:<\/span><br \/>\n&#8230;grudges<br \/>\n&#8230;Fake anything<br \/>\n&#8230;putting profits before people<br \/>\n&#8230;over-roasted coffee<br \/>\n&#8230;crabby people<br \/>\n&#8230;WiFi you have to pay for <em>(I was typing this on an airport wifi signal I had to pay for, grrrr)<\/em><br \/>\n&#8230;waiting for change to happen<br \/>\nAll this life wisdom for just $1.19.\u00a0 And they even threw in some hot coffee!<br \/>\nEnjoy your day.\u00a0 I will.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When I bought a cup at the airport coffee shop, I expected warm caffeine.\u00a0 What I got was a list of life tips written on the cup.\u00a0 It made me smile, and thought I&#8217;d share: Thank a Teacher.
