{"id":1753,"date":"2011-03-17T06:55:54","date_gmt":"2011-03-17T10:55:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lifewithhappiness.com\/?p=1753"},"modified":"2018-10-02T13:36:49","modified_gmt":"2018-10-02T17:36:49","slug":"ive-joined-the-cult-of-apple","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theexecutivehappinesscoach.com\/2011\/03\/ive-joined-the-cult-of-apple\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#039;ve Joined the Cult of Apple!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/theexecutivehappinesscoach.com\/files\/2011\/03\/I-Joined-The-Cult-of-Apple.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1754\" title=\"I Joined The Cult of Apple\" src=\"https:\/\/theexecutivehappinesscoach.com\/files\/2011\/03\/I-Joined-The-Cult-of-Apple.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"322\" height=\"483\" \/><\/a>For years I\u2019ve carried on a good-natured banter with my friends and relatives who belonged to what I called The Cult of Apple. <\/strong>They were far too satisfied with their computing experiences for me to believe it was real.\u00a0 There had to be a catch, right?<br \/>\n<strong>I was an Unbeliever. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Someone gave me an old iPod Nano<\/strong>, with which I consumed audiobooks while I worked out.\u00a0 Soon I graduated to a full iPod to hold my 6,000+ songs, and fell in love with podcasts and playlists.<br \/>\n<strong>Then I started loading teleclass recordings, and my iPod became a legitimate business tool. <\/strong>As more colleagues converted their office systems to Apple products and spoke with actual JOY about their experience, I began to think, \u201cHmm\u2026 maybe it\u2019s more than hype\u2026maybe there\u2019s some real advantages???\u201d<br \/>\n<strong>My family gifted me with an iPad last Christmas, which opened up a new world of accessibility and portability<\/strong>, including a means for devouring books via my iBook and Kindle apps.\u00a0 It also syncs seamlessly with my music and audio files.\u00a0 Nice.<br \/>\n<strong>Last week, my four-year-old LG mobile officially died<\/strong>.\u00a0 I\u2019d been in denial for weeks, but as more and more buttons stopped working, I had to face reality: I needed a new phone.\u00a0 At the Verizon store I considered multiple alternatives, and in the end, noticing how the employees themselves were salivating over the iPhone, I decided to make the leap.<br \/>\n<strong>I joined the Apple Cult. \u00a0Oh, My, Goodness! <\/strong>This is the most complex technology I\u2019ve ever carried in my pocket, yet the conversion was painless.\u00a0 I brought it home, plugged it in to my computer, and iTunes asked, \u201cdo you want this to look like your iPad?\u201d\u00a0 I said, yes, and in 30 minutes I had a fully-functional, totally synced iPhone in my hands\u2026. And in just a few days, it has changed my life!<br \/>\n<strong>My six-year old laptop has aging \u201cissues,\u201d and my desktop has had its brains replaced twice and keeps trying to commit suicide. <\/strong>I hear the siren call of the Apple cult, drawing me in\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For years I\u2019ve carried on a good-natured banter with my friends and relatives who belonged to what I called The Cult of Apple.
