{"id":2344,"date":"2008-09-25T23:09:29","date_gmt":"2008-09-26T03:09:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lifewithhappiness.com\/?p=148"},"modified":"2018-10-02T13:36:59","modified_gmt":"2018-10-02T17:36:59","slug":"miracles-do-happen-the-power-of-attraction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theexecutivehappinesscoach.com\/2008\/09\/miracles-do-happen-the-power-of-attraction\/","title":{"rendered":"Miracles do happen &#8212; the power of attraction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is about a little miracle &#8212; in the midst of a bad economy.<br \/>\nMy wife and I bought another house (a foreclosure) in our neightborhood a few years ago.\u00a0 After rehabbing it we rented it out.\u00a0 The tenants &#8212; who were decent sorts &#8212; recently moved, but after fixing all the problems they left behind, we decided that maybe we&#8217;re not cut out to be landlords.\u00a0 So, we decided to sell the house.<br \/>\n&#8220;What are you thinking?!&#8221; you might ask.\u00a0 This is, after all a very down market.\u00a0 And yes, there are houses in our neighborhood that have been on the market for over a year.\u00a0 Still, we decided to try.\u00a0 This house, with a large fenced yard, is a perfect starter home for a family with one or two kids and a dog &#8212; and we are certain that a family like that is out there somewhere.\u00a0 We decide to attract such a family.<br \/>\n<strong>Monday:<\/strong> we place a For Sale By Owner sign in the front yard, and list the house on Craigslist and Zillow (free is good!).<br \/>\n<strong>Tuesday:<\/strong> we post our maximum allotment of four pictures to the online ads<br \/>\n<strong>Wednesday:<\/strong> we are contacted by a broker who specializes in houses in our city.\u00a0 Reluctantly, we agree to chat.\u00a0 He impresses us.\u00a0 He tours the house, affirms that we&#8217;ve got a nice, clean little property.\u00a0 He makes a good case for himself, and we agree to give him a shot on a flat fee basis.\u00a0 What the heck &#8212; it costs us nothing to let somebody else do some work for us, eh?!<br \/>\n<strong>Thursday, 1pm: <\/strong>Matt the Matchmaker (as I&#8217;m now calling him) says he&#8217;s showing the house at 3PM.\u00a0 Cheryl and I head out to run some errands on the other side of town.<br \/>\n<strong>Thursday, 4:30pm: <\/strong> Matt calls Cheryl on her mobile, and a cryptic conversation ensues.\u00a0 Cheryl hangs up, shakes her head, and says: &#8220;He sold the house!&#8221;<br \/>\nUnbelievably, we are signing papers tomorrow.\u00a0 Family, with one kids and two small dogs.\u00a0 They are pre-approved with a bank.\u00a0 They are first-time homebuyers, and their current lease expires in six days, so they want to start moving in&#8230; in three days!<br \/>\nWe will have sold the house and turned it over, in less than a week.\u00a0 The power of attraction works!<br \/>\nAnd we are VERY happy!\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<br \/>\nI believe in miracles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is about a little miracle &#8212; in the midst of a bad economy.
