{"id":843,"date":"2009-04-28T23:00:31","date_gmt":"2009-04-29T03:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lifewithhappiness.com\/?p=843"},"modified":"2018-10-02T13:36:55","modified_gmt":"2018-10-02T17:36:55","slug":"happiness-is-watching-your-child-succeed-part-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theexecutivehappinesscoach.com\/2009\/04\/happiness-is-watching-your-child-succeed-part-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Happiness is Watching Your Child Succeed, Part 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am so excited!\u00a0 My oldest son got engaged last weekend to a wonderful young woman who makes him very happy.<\/p>\n<p>In the improbable manner of the world, Justin (from Cleveland) met Katie (from Pittsburgh) while they were attending a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.secondcity.com\/?id=training-education\/training\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Second City Improv workshop<\/a>\u00a0(in Chicago) two summers ago.\u00a0 Apparently it was love at first sight.<\/p>\n<p>Justin moved to Nashville to be near Katie for her last year of college, and it\u2019s been great fun to watch their relationship mature.\u00a0 This child of ours lives a great deal of his life in an Improvisational mode \u2013 making it up as he goes along.\u00a0 Katie is graduating this month from Belmont University in Nashville as a Theatre major, and her dream is to land a spot on Saturday Night Live as an Improv artist.\u00a0 Thus, she makes a perfect match for Justin.<\/p>\n<p>I loved watching this all from the sidelines, noticing that Romance is far from dead in this turbulent world.\u00a0 Justin honored the tradition of asking Katie\u2019s parents for their blessing.\u00a0 He then made them co-conspirators in his plan when they sent him a gold cuff link that was momento from Katie\u2019s beloved grandfather.\u00a0 Justin had the diamond in that cuff link turned into a one-of-a-kind Claddagh ring (see photo).<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-847 alignright\" title=\"ring4\" src=\"https:\/\/theexecutivehappinesscoach.com\/files\/2009\/04\/ring4-300x165.jpg\" alt=\"ring4\" width=\"210\" height=\"115\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then he planned a trip with Katie and plotted with friends to arrange for music, sparklers, and videotaping of the proposal, which happened when they \u201ccoincidentally\u201d made their way down the same Chicago street where they\u2019d had their first kiss.<\/p>\n<p>In the manner of Millennials, the engagement was first announced on Katie\u2019s Facebook page, of course!<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re looking forward to a very happy event in the summer of 2010.\u00a0 J<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am so excited!\u00a0 My oldest son got engaged last weekend to a wonderful young woman who makes him very happy.
